ÍSOR took an active part in the World Geothermal Congress 2026, held in Calgary, Canada, on 8–12 June. The conference is the largest international forum for professionals in the field of geothermal energy and geosciences, and it is attended by leading experts and representatives of companies and institutions from all over the world. In total, 16 ÍSOR employees took part in this year's conference, with presentations ranging from monitoring to sustainable utilization in the field of geosciences, as well as taking part in panel discussions.

There was great interest in ÍSOR's flexible Coupling, an Icelandic patent-protected innovation that has been developed for use in high-temperature wells. The solution attracted considerable attention among the conference attendees and was seen as a clear example of how Icelandic knowledge and experience can lead to new technological solutions for the geothermal industry.

ÍSOR's participation in the World Geothermal Congress 2026 was an important opportunity to share Icelandic knowledge on the international stage, strengthen cooperation with experts and partners around the world, and keep abreast of the latest developments in the field of geothermal energy and geosciences.
